Who was Lon?

Cowboy artist Alonzo "Lon" Megargee created a uniquely Southwestern home he called "Casa Hermosa," which means Beautiful House and is now called The Hermosa Inn. Megargee's original home and art studio now houses LON's at the hermosa. The Inn and restaurant have been fully restored, recapturing its original charm and beauty, much like it was during Megargee's days. Dubbed the Zane Grey of cowboy artists, many of Megargee's original paintings grace the walls of LON's. Additional information may be obtained by clicking on About LON's at the hermosa, history.

Do I need a reservation?

Reservations are encouraged but not required. To avoid a long wait please call ahead so we may reserve a table for you.

What is appropriate dress for LON's?

Our guests feel at home dressed in resort casual attire or in more formal dress for special occasions.

What type of Cuisine do you offer?

What is the average price for dinner?

Guests enjoy world-class quality featuring local flavors for an extraordinary value. Entrees are priced from $19. In addition to our a la carte menus, LON's features a price-fixed four-course chef's tasting menu Sunday through Thursday. We also offer a wine tasting menu featuring our "Wednesday's Wine" tasting selections. Our Menu may be viewed by clicking to Our Cuisine.

One of my dining companions has a food allergy, can you accommodate him?

Please let us know the restrictions so that we may recommend specific menu items or suggest alternatives. We would like to do everything we can to accommodate special requests.

What are the dining venues at LON's?

We have three distinctly different dining rooms and a beautiful patio with a stunning view of Camelback Mountain to accommodate diners and groups up to 70. Those seeking an intimate gourmet experience of 6-12 guests may choose to dine at our Chef's Table and underground Wine Cellar. We also offer full dinner service in our bar.

Please tell me more about your outside patio.

LON's front patio is open during the same hours as our dining rooms, weather permitting, October through May. In the chilly months, it is warmed by a grand adobe fireplace as well as numerous portable heaters. It is lushly planted with a great view of Camelback Mountain to the east and our notable Lysiloma tree to the west. Many couples have wed under this tree and it is one of the significant historical trees in the state, having been planted by Lon Megargee nearly 70 years ago.

We are celebrating a special occasion; can you help make it extra special?

Yes we can, please let us know what the occasion is and we will assist you with ideas which range from flowers to cakes, menus to a diamond in champagne.

The Chef's Table and Wine Cellar sound exciting. What is the dining format?

Select our chef's special six-course seasonal tasting menu or contact him directly to arrange a personalized menu for you and your guests. Wine selections may be made prior to your event or you may choose to select from our Wine Spectator award-wining wines located in the cellar on your special night. Our chef and sommelier are available to provide their personal recommendations to complement your dinner.

How can I arrange for my holiday party, special event, business meeting, or wedding?

Do you have sleeping rooms at LON's?

The Hermosa Inn has 35 guest rooms which range from spacious villas to the cozy adobe casitas, each uniquely decorated with a warm and charming Southwestern residential ambiance. Gift Certificates are available in a number of denominations; please call ahead and we will have your certificates ready upon your arrival.

We are located in a quiet residential area bounded by Palo Cristi, which is the same as 36th street, and Stanford which is 3/4 miles north of Camelback between 44th and 32nd Streets.
